Dear Reader,

My name is Marta McGonagle. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share with you an experience that changed my life forever... for the better.

On March 14th 2001, I took my sister out for an evening of partying and fun. That evening turned into a nightmare, where I ended up in jail and my sister in Intensive care. Losing control of my car, I crashed into a tree off a major highway. My blood alcohol content at the time was .125.

Due to the unusual circumstances in my situation, the judge ruled that I serve as a spokesperson for the organization MADD and share my story. What I learned from students across the country helped me to understand that teens need to see what the repercussions are if they decide to get behind the wheel while drinking.

With this film, I share not only my story, but that of the mothers who were also affected by this wreck.  One struggling with alcohol addiction and the other with forgiveness.  In sharing my film, I  hope to prevent others from making the same mistake that I did and ultimately help to save lives.
